As a binding pillar of the Indian Federal Government’s financial inclusion plan, a unique twelve digit digital identification number was introduced as Aadhaar.
Launched in 2009, it became the world’s largest biometric system used by the financial institutions including banks and insurance companies to verify one as an Indian citizen when they apply for financial products and services.
If you are a resident of India (defined by the Indian Government) or have lived in India for at least 182 days in the past twelve months, then you can apply for Aadhaar. To get your Aadhaar, you need to provide the below listen information:
- Your Name
- Verified D.O.B.
- Gender
- Residential Address
- Mobile Number
- Email Address (optional)
- Biometric Information
- Photograph
Learn how one can check Aadhaar status after update request submitted
Under two categories your Aadhaar can be changed, updated or corrected offline as well as online:
- Demographics: It includes name, address and date of birth, gender, mobile number and email.
- Biometrics: It includes fingerprints, iris scan and photograph.
If you are looking to check the status of the above mentioned changes then that can be done in four ways:
With Enrolment ID
If one has made an update request at the enrolment centre, then the individual need an Enrolment ID (EID) to track the status.
The EID consists of 28 digits, in which first fourteen digits are the enrolment number and the next fourteen digits are the date & time stamp.
Once your EID is generated, you can download your Aadhaar by following these steps:
- Enter your EID & Captcha details
- If your Aadhaar is ready, then the next page display will say “Your Aadhaar is generated.
- Download or get the Aadhaar on your mobile from the page itself.
- If the updates you requested have not been made then you will not get the above message.
Without Enrolment ID
If you don’t have the EID, you can generate it using the registered mobile number and the email ID. Same goes for the Aadhaar number, if you have forgotten or misplaced the card, by following these steps:
- Provide your name, mobile number or email ID
- Enter the Captcha code
- Verify the details through OTP & Login
- You will receive your EID or Aadhaar number on your phone via SMS
- Then you can proceed to check the status using the retrieved EID
Using Aadhaar Number
You can track your updates request by using your Aadhaar number, just follow the below steps:
- Put in your twelve-digit UID card number
- Do the Captcha Verification
- After the inputs, the next screen will directly show you whether the changes have been made in the database or not.
Using Update Request Number (URN)
The URN is a fourteen digit number generated when one applies for an update. This number is displayed on the screen once the individual has submitted the update or will be sent to you on your linked mobile number. You can now check the updates using the URN on the following steps:
- Enter the URN
- Enter the Captcha
- The next screen will display whether the change you requested is done or not
Using Service Request Number (SRN)
If you have requested an address validation letter, then you would receive a Service Request Number (SRN). The SRN is a ten-digit number and you can track the updates from the following steps:
- Enter the SRN
- Enter the Captcha
- The next screen will display whether the change you requested is done or not
The e-Aadhaar is a highly secured password protected document serving as both residential and identification proof. The electronic copy is as authenticated as the physical copy and one can download the newly requested e-Aadhaar through the below listed steps:
- Download by using Aadhaar Number
- Download by using Enrolment ID
- Download by using Virtual ID
- Download by using Name & Date of Birth
